Dental Implants

What are Dental Implants?

A dental implant is a titanium post that is surgically inserted deep into the bone of the jaw. Over the course of a few months, this post osseointegrates with your body, fusing naturally with the bone. After it’s fully healed, we can create a new denture that will be clipped or snapped on top. Both hybrid and all-on-4 implants help to create a more natural look when wearing dentures.

Why are Dental Implants needed?

If you have an ill-fitting denture or are missing a great deal of your teeth, implants are a great way to both replace the teeth as well as the underlying roots. For the all-on-4 procedure, we will surgically insert four strategically placed implants to keep the denture firmly into place. This prevents the denture from slipping or falling out without the need for adhesives and creams.

“I had such a great experience here, everyone made me feel at home. Dr.Patel was so good at explain all my treatment.”

What makes you a good candidate for Dental Implants?

In order for implants to be the right option for you, you need to have enough solid bone mass where they’ll be placed. We will examine your mouth as well as take x-rays to determine if you have bone loss and, if so, we may suggest a bone grafting. The procedure is ideal for patients who can safely undergo oral surgery and have the ability to heal from treatment.

What happens during the Dental Implant procedure?

We begin by creating a treatment plan just for you. This involves an examination and x-rays that allow us to determine where the implants need to be placed. Our goal is to insert the implants into different areas so that a new denture can be easily snapped into place. You will need to wait about six months for the new implants to heal fully and be secure enough to hold onto a hybrid denture. The denture is then made for you using impressions of the implants and gums. Your denture will easily stay in place and you will not have to deal with slippage.
